As scuba divers, we are privileged to explore the beauty of the underwater world—and with that privilege comes responsibility. We are not only visitors to the ocean; we are its protectors, its voice. At Let’s Go Dive Bonaire, we are committed to educating our guests about marine conservation and the actions divers can take to help protect the marine life we are so fortunate to encounter on every dive.

One of those commitments was partnering with Reef Environmental Education Foundation and providing an opportunity for our divers to become part of one of the biggest citizen science programs worldwide, REEF’s Volunteer Fish Survey Project. Through this project, divers help monitor local fish populations, providing critical data that supports the management and conservation of marine ecosystems across the globe. Scientists, researchers, and environmental organizations rely on this information to assess human impact on marine environments and to guide conservation efforts worldwide.

Our team member Dana, a REEF Level 5 Expert Surveyor, can train recreational divers to properly conduct fish surveys during their regular dives. You’ll also learn how to submit the data collected into REEF’s database used by scientists and researchers around the world. The knowledge and training you gain through this program can be used to conduct fish surveys wherever you dive in the world. As marine citizen scientists, you’ll make valuable contributions to reef health—truly giving new meaning to “making your dives count.”

Let’s Go Dive Bonaire is excited to introduce our divers to this rewarding program, offering them the chance to deepen their connection to the ocean, expand their knowledge, and contribute to meaningful marine conservation efforts—one dive at a time.
